Floorplan

Current floorplan

Just thought I’d share the floorplan so you can see what we’re working with!

The second floor will be a much longer term project, we are hoping to extend the loft conversion further on one side & create a large master bedroom with en suite, but for now it will be a storage space.

The main changes we are making structurally immediately are:

  • Knock down the walls which currently partition the kitchen from the dining room and reception room, so we will have an open plan kitchen & living space. This will allow much more light through the whole space as the current walls block quite a lot! It also allows us to have a bigger kitchen!
  • Push back part of the wall on the left of the reception room, to make the hallway thinner, in line with the stairs – this will give us slightly more living room space & a nice flat wall for the TV to have prime position!
  • On the first floor, the bedroom on the right of the floorplan currently has a cupboard next to it (marked S) this holds the hot water cylinder for the boiler, sk we will change the boiler to a combi & get the hot water cylinder removed, then knock down the partition wall & relocate the door to make that bedroom about half a metre longer. The cupboard seemed like a waste of space so this way we feel we are really making the most of the space!

I’ll post some before photos soon of the house as we will be starting to tackle the 66 item long list this weekend & I want to document exactly how each space was before we started!

But now, time to dig out some old clothes, get kisstory on the radio & begin wallpaper stripping!! πŸ“»πŸ˜ xxx
